PDF pre-flight checking engine
The advanced PDF pre-flight checking module is a key component of the PrintSure portal and has been developed entirely by DevZeroG and does not require any other 3d party applications whatsoever.
The pre-flight engine is complex, powerful and one of the most advanced on the market. The engine has been written in JAVA, and as a result can be run on most operating systems - Apple Mac OS X, Windows, and for legacy system users - even on Apple Mac OS 9. Support for other operating systems, such as Sun Solaris, Linux (RedHat Fedora, Suse, Debian, etc) is also available upon request.
The pre-flight checking engine has many unique features, some of which are covered below - if there is a particular aspect of PDF verification that you would like to know about, contact us and we will be happy to answer any questions you have.
Average Area Ink Coverage
Unlike all other solutions (at the time of writing) PrintSure verifies the average ink coverage for an area of a pre-defined size, rather then of single pixels.
Images, within a PDF document, which only have a small number of pixels with ink coverage over a specified threshold will not cause problems, and therefore can be passed as "good" files into the workflow.
Systems which only detect pixel over-inking, require a manual processing overhead, as operators and other staff have to manually check PDF documents, in which problems were found.
PrintSure eliminates this laborious task, only stopping files which have problem areas, ones which would truly cause problems like longer drying time, higher ink costs and potential press jams, all contributing towards lowered costs.
Dynamic page/paper size checking
PrintSure also allows administrators, account managers and other staff to carry out less administration of the system with simple to setup dynamic profiles. This feature allows greater flexibility with a small number of profiles to maintain,
Dynamic page size checking allows several paper sizes to be specified within the profile, which the user, submitting the file, can then select from at the time of sending the file.
The paper sizes can all be given easy to understand names, for example "A4 document" or "Half page advert", whilst in the profile a width and height in millimetres can be specified, as well as an acceptable tolerance for fluctuations outside of the exact measurement.
Image resolution
Image resolution of many types of images can be verified, with great flexibility, as PrintSure allows for several ranges to be defined. The 4 ranges allow users to choose which resolution is unacceptable, which is just high enough, which is perfect, and which is unacceptably high, thus providing an easy way to automatically accept problem-free and files with warnings, or reject ones containing errors.
